Creation Cycle: Metal
A 5 part monthly class series to illumnate the Five Elements
The vital demand is that we relinquish holdings and rejoice in the impermanence of our existence - as this is the foundation upon which we’re built. Open hands liberate. In our letting go we create space to welcome anew when ready. This is the metal element, our fifth and final phase of the Five Element creation cycle. During our time, we’ll reflect on this cycle's journey and plunge to the heart of grief, preparing ourselves to contract and descend in our return to the source, ready to begin again. Through meditation, lecture, qi gong, and at-home creative exercises we’ll reflect in metal’s resonance with the breath of the cosmos during this 2-hour class.
The Creation Cycle class series is a tool for anyone participating in acts of creation. Together, we’ll make our way through the philosophy of the Five Elements to witness the enduring cycles of our dear Earth and our own co-creation of the world around us.
Each month, we’ll meet on the first Wednesday at the Philosophical Research Society and explore a new elemental step in the creative process. Participants are welcome to join all five classes or skip around, depending on their own curiosities.

A 5 part monthly class series to illumnate the Five Elements
In-person at Philosophical Research Society
Return to center and watch the fruit ripen to burst and nourish. The earth phase within the creative cycle of the Five Elements offers stability as the fruits of our labor are now ready for consumption. Together we’ll sink into embodying reciprocity in the dynamic movements between offering outward and integrating inward. Creation will coalesce in the earth phase of this class series as we prepare for the harvest. Through meditation, lecture, qi gong, and at-home creative exercises, earth’s noble stability will hold us in this 2-hour class.

Exalted yang transforms us through communion as we enter the fire stage of the Five Elements creative cycle. Join us for the third class in the Creation Cycle series as we center ourselves around the vital need for community during acts of creation. Limbs loosen and elongate from the hold of winter’s stillness. It’s time to wake up, unfurl your arms, and stretch your legs as we take our next step in the Five Elements cycle of creativity. This phase is the seedling’s emergence, blinking eyes wide to familiarize as the sun’s illumination tempts us forward to grow, to explore, to change. Free of expectations, this class will focus on how to harness emptiness within the rapidly changing landscape of birthing a new work. Imperfection is where everything manifests. In play and error, we’ll bear witness to evolutionary expansion. Through meditation, lecture, qi gong, and at-home creative exercises, wood’s budding insights will enliven us in this 2-hour class.
